Why is it that has time moves forward everything gets worse..?..perhaps in another 60 years people will be seeing video's of us walking about and thinking how better it was..🤷‍♂️..weird world we live in.

While I admire the fashion, discipline, culture, and style of the 50s I will never forget what was done to my people during those time and prior. African Americans were treated downright humane like they were animals of some sort. Not only that but woman we put to the roles of basically a dog on a lease. I usually think about how I would want to live in the 50s but then I suddenly remember my skin color and say a black mans 50s was much different for the white man

Terminal Island was the home of the Tuna Fishing and Canning Industry that fed a nation. An entire town ( Furusato) built by Americans of Japanese descent who were the fishing and canning industry - was bulldozed into oblivion by the US Army a military airport extended into its midst. Tuna Street and others still exist. Google it.

Bunker Hill is in every good Film Noir and some Noir TV too. The Angels Flight funicular ran to the top..as did another funicular. All bulldozed FLAT a whole mountain taken away and Ugly Financial Sky Scrapers built there.. between freeways. Big Money and Corruption ripped the soul out of LA not long after they built it.

actually one can date these individual scenes usually pretty well either by the car models or more accurately by the styles and outfits the ladies wear in the streets (I´m a fashion historian btw). This is not just one 1920 movie but rather a wild collection of footage with each scene filmed in another year between 1900 and 1920 but in no chronological order unfortunately - just a wrongly dated mess of footage.... 🤷‍♂

Some of them were even Communists and Socialists. Groups that Hitler despiced and put into concentrationcamps! Maybe they had to join the army to protect their families. All I'm saying here is that we should not be so quick to judge. Every case is unique. Some may have been collaborators, and some were just young teens falling in love. But the worst is that their innocent babies who were born between these women and german soldiers, were stigmatised also💔

Only the period fashions technology tell you this was 70+ years ago. Just looking at how well preserved this archive is and how alive it sounds to me alters my perception drastically. It makes illusion so all pervasive that it loses all meaning and value and becomes irrelevant. Seems to me like the past isn’t really past, and what’s to come is already here. Just the overall natural and chaotic transitions and changes in all living things and their knock on effects throughout the natural environment that shapes our perspective of what constitutes the ‘past’, what we experience in the present and what we predict for the ‘future’.
